Was wondering if any GetBig members actually had enough coffindence in themselves in real life to perform this gargantuan race of Alphamaleism? If so, how did you prepare? I would think the barbed wire part would be hard due to the fact of massive shoulders and chest getting into the way.

How did the leg warmers help you? Are they fire retardent when jumping over the hot coals?

How did the arm warmers help you? Preventing rope burn when sliding down?

How did the spiked sneakers/running shoes help you? Digging in while climbing the wall?

I'm doing one in August, only doing it cos a (hot) girl I know is doing it and asked if I would join in, hopefully I'll get laid later.....preferably whislt she's still covered in mud.

They are not difficult, the hardest part is the amount of running if you are not used to it. If you are going to "train" for it just run, run and run some more.

BTW, I have no problem with these sort of races.

Theres a few dorks at my gym who wear tough mudder and spartan race shirts sort of like badges of honor for accomplishing something that is completely irrelevant and nobody gives a fuck about except the lame cross fitters who throw 8 10lb plates on a bar for deadlifts to seem HUUUUGE !!!

My thing is either bodybuilding or straight endurance race a half marathon or a triathlon...no bs, just train get prepped and race.

People make too big a deal about these events. Like anything, you'll have a mix of people who take it too seriously and people who don't.

Simply put, they're fun to do.

Spartan Race is easy enough that hack squatting, tricep kickbacking non athlete bodybuilders could probably get by if they amped the cardio a bit.
