Of all the great sports bikes why did you narrow down to those pieces of shit?

Had a BMW.  Nice bike. Great for colder weather riding. It was an st.

I hear only amazing things about Yamaha sport bikes.

Both great bikes, as well as the KTM. However you will be spending lots of money on repairs and maintenance. They both require twice as much work as a Jap bike.

With the money you will spend on the bikes stock, you could invest the money you save on an R1 or a ZX10 and blow them away and spend less on parts and maintenance.

well, supposedly the 2015 R1 may have 200 hp.
So, might be worth the wait.

If you're wanting another liter bike, the S1000RR is in another league.  Thought about a larger bike at all?  Busa or Ninja14?

If you want fun and grunt buy a two-cilinder. If you want top speed and constant downshift to reach powerband buy a recent 4 cilinder.

Great bike, a must have for all cobbled streets and 30 minutes rest at the top of an escalator, with the back wheel one step down

I had a busa. It was a mouse trap with the stock swing arm very unpredictable.    I prefer the litre bikes because I prefer handling to top end speed and I do local track days.

Just ditched my Hayabusa (42k miles) and got a 2002 Honda CBR1100xx Blackbird (Known to do 100K plus) has 12k miles. Got it for a good deal ($2000 plus one of my AR Rifles). Since I have a GSXR 1000 and a Bandit 1200 Streetfighter I'm going to make this my long ride for 2 up (wife rides).

Handlebar conversion kit, pegs lowered, corbin seat etc... If I was to add to my collection and didn't fall into this deal I would have gone with the Yamaha FJR 1300.

Love having one for the twisties, one with bad ass low end torque for around town and twisties and then one for long cruises ...best of all worlds.

PS - buddy of mine had a BMW put 33k on it but said it was like a Harley, he was always fixing something and it nickel and dimed him

Gsxr1000 is a monster bike. I found it a little bit cramped though. I bought a busa instead and loved that.

That's why you get a Bandit 1200 which is basically the old GSXR 1100 motor with different cams. Put the GSXR cams in it and you now have a bike with high end speed but the comfort of a standard.

what about in the corners

my gsxr was really neutral

the throttle was also very smooth

so easy to ride quickly without highsiding
