This could actually work for you, I do something similar.... three 50g protein shakes during the day to keep me somewhat full, and then a large meal at night.
I do low/zero-carb though, so I don't know how this will work with a "carbier" approach.
If you can make it through the day without cracking, and you focus on getting your 200-300g protein before eating other foods, I think it can be very effective
