Rock 'n' Roll - Rival Sons - Give them a listen
« on: April 19, 2014, 05:46:48 PM »
If you haven't heard these guys, give 'em a listen. Pretty damn amazing. Sure, it's derivative, but who isn't? Everything's already been done, as Shakespeare pointed out. Whomever your influence(s), just do it well, I say. Methinks they do.

My pleasure. And let's just get this outta the way: In no way, shape, or form am I suggesting they could possibly hold a candle to the mighty Def Leppard.

A friend's son-in-law who is in the business got him and his wife backstage with Def Leppard.  He said they were a great bunch of guys, no longer party animals but more family men now.

But man, "Pour Some Sugar On Me" is eternally righteous!

It was kind of a joke, Scott.

Oooops.  I'm kinda old. And dense.  And...Well, you get it.  ;D  But I enjoy Def Leppard in spite of my being more a Sinatra kind of old fart!  Big Grand Funk Railroad fan too.  Music is something I really enjoy, in fact I went to listen to some music through speakers I am interested in today,   Magnepans.  Stunning.  Even though they are the entry level Maggies they were still impressive.

Oh lord, I am getting old(er).  ;D  But I did enjoy the first video very much.

Man, I wish people would click on this thread just to hear the songs. For OG rockers, this shit is gold.

Thanks.

Contrary to popular belief rock'n roll isn't dead. There's actually alot of grat music out there. You just got to find it. It doesn't get airplay. Instead we get Katy Perry, Pink, Rihanna and Nicky Minaj 500 times in a row.

So so true.

As for Rival Sons, been a fan for a few years, finally managed to catch them live last year. Great show and money well spent.

That's a shame. Singer's a converted blues man, probably never even heard of Whitesnake.

Found them on iTunes but would rather have either a CD.

Listening to these guys has also made me want to find a copy of "The Commitments" on Blu Ray.

Thanks again for the videos, great music!   ;D
