Nearly impossible to find decent sauces at the grocery store. Over here we have stuff like Uncle Ben's and Lloyd Grossman who does Rojan Josh and Tikka Masala type sauces/curries but they're shit enough.
Does anybody have any good recipes to take the monotony out of eating this shit?

Take bland chicken and rice, throw it in a hot skillet with a little bit of oil, add garlic and pepper. Easy chicken fried rice without adding a ton of calories.

My wife makes a nice catch-all sauce/marinade with one egg yolk, Dijon mustard and crushed/diced garlic. It works on everything, but the downside is the breath.

A bit of Asian fish/oyster sauce goes a long way towards adding a lot of good flavor to bland meals... doesn't taste like fish in the slightest, but rather like a better, more complex-tasting soy sauce

Also this stuff is terrific on just about anything...no idea if it's available across the pond:

Don't look in supermarkets, go to the Chinese and Indian supermarkets. They do spices, chillies, soy sauce etc way cheaper than Tesco etc and they are higher quality.

A simple meal I bring to work is chicken and rice with just pepper and diced peppers thrown into the rice. What makes it nice is I roast the chicken the day/night before and next day when meat is cool I pull off pieces. Has way more flavour and a nicer texture than baked breast.

I'll load up on 5 pounds or so of 93% ground beef when it goes on sale.

Cook it, drain it, then mix in some some taco seasoning, throw in a small can or 2 of the Rotel Spicy Habenero diced tomatoes. Maybe mix in some brown rice and some fat free cheese, which is basically all protein.

Then once I put that into a taco shell I'll substitute the sour cream with some good quality Greek yogurt.

Tastes damn good and packs a ton of protein.

I'm in Bray, aka Brayzhing, Brayzil, Brindia etc. So many ethnic shops. Girlfriend is Brazilian too so opened up a world of different vegetables, spices and cuts of meats for my diet.

You can make a good stir fry with chicken too, soy sauce, fresh chillies and peppers, maybe some pak choi (use leaves as well), cashew nuts - whatever floats your boat. Transports well too.

Ingredients: Cheddar Cheese (Blend of Cheddar Cheese, [Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes], Whey, Soybean Oil, Whey Protein Concentrate, Lactose, Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid), Salt, Butter Milk Solids, Onion Powder, Paprika, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Parsley, Tumeric and Paprika Extractives, Tomato Powder, Disodium Inosinate and Guanylate, Spice. Silicon Dioxide added to prevent caking

I don't know what the hell "Disodium Inosinate and Guanylate" is, but Big Chiro isnt kidding.... It's pretty much the only way i can eat chicken breast these days

EDIT: ok seems to be some sort of fish/kelp-derived glutamate analog

marinate the chicken in hot sauce then dip the chicken in crushed pork rinds and fry until golden brown.   Best low carb fried chicken ever!

As for other ideas, depending on how clean or tasteful you want your chicken and rice:
* Add some lemon zest, lemon juice (one fresh lemon), finely chopped fresh ginger, a few garlic cloves, some soy sauce and a spoonfull of honey to your stir fried chicken.
* Stir fry your chicken with some curry powder, chopped garlic, a bit of water (or preferably coconut milk), and diced red pepper and apple/pineapple/banana.
* Add some sesame seed, little pieces of seaweed and a bit of wasabi to your rice. Season chicken with some sesame oil.
* Fry some chopped onion and garlic, fry chicken until done, then add diced tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes start to disintegrate, add pepper, salt and freshly chopped basil.

hey bro, if your dieting the less appealing your food tastes, the less forward you'll look fwd to eating it, and the less hungry you'll feel as a result.

bland tasting shitty food for the win i think.
