I have never fought him but I know what doesn't work, the same way I know what happens, or can happen, when I jump from the 15th floor of an apartment building.

Look, no one said it would be easy to fight the guy but his arms and his legs are his weakest, and strongest, links. Attack them, don't aim at his head, take away his arms and his legs.

Perfect example of the Bones Jones "aura":

JBJ Gives up his back after doing his usual spinning elbow move... and Gustafsson does nothing!

Choke his ass!

I tell you... Jones' got more lives than a Siamese cat.

They don't make em' like Hoost anymore man..Hoost would cripple this kid. Granted he did fight at roughly 240lbs but still... :P

so does jones... nearly.

jones reach is too great.

I'd love to see somebody somebody take Jones down and fishhook his eye socket.. see how he likes it.... or at the very least a hard knee to the nuts to level the playing field after the eye pokes effecting your depth-perception.

Jones is no different than Gilbert Yyel with the eye pokes.

I'm telling you, if Jones gets hit in the legs he will not last. Hoost is a good example.

Jones' game plan is always the same: Go in there, see what the other guy's got and little by little impose himself with kinky moves that do not do much but expose his ass. And once he gets your timing, you're done because he is faster than you and has reach advantage.

My take on it is that if you get him out of that comfort zone, via low kicks, he's not going to know what to do. All you do then is avoid his circus shit (spinning kicks, spinning elbows, et cetera) and wait your moment. Eventually he will open up.

I know, easier said than done, but you know what? If you get him irritated he can be fucked up. Silva is a prime example: Lost his first fight with Weidman because he couldn't get to him and lost his second fight not only because he broke his leg, but because he knew he was ALSO getting knocked out later on: Anderson got him on a clinch and he couldn't even now only not hold the clinch, he got knocked to the ground by a bitch-ass over the head punch at, probably, 50% power.

We need Bones' next opponent to be ready, FIGHT the guy and most of all, go in there wanting to knock him the fuck out.

ufc's LHW sucks.

who besides Gus is there? who do you give a title shot to? Hendo? jones would pick him apart in standup by keeping distance.. hendo'd have to take him down. I dunno even know who hendo's last sub was over.... vitor would have the same trouble with jones distance. Rua has the tools, but hasn't been the same since Pride or since his loss to Forest (who the fuck takes anxiety meds before a fucking title fight??? I suspect Rua has long had issues with benzo's).

I'd much rather see Wanderlei fight jones in brazil away from Vegas HRT testing... at least Wand would get him his face and make jones scramble and adapt.. and wand has legit muay thai to attack jones down low.

or... you could have Anderson silva fight at light heavy, since he walks around at 240 between fights... he has the stiking skills to compete with jones as well.

actually.... that'd be a better fight than silva/gsp everybody wanted for years.

Would he be mocking people if he lost his title because someone poked his eye and he couldn't see? Or how will he whine when the refs finally nut up and start taking points from him for constantly using his finger to the eye technique to keep his opponents away?
Dude is a douche.

He needs to be humbled / blinded.

Poke him so he loses his eyesight, then we'll talk.

He wasn't so willing to stay in the pocket with Glover until he gouged the shit out of his eye. I'd like to hear some of the refs explain why they haven't warned him or taken a point from him.

I don't get these pussies... if he pokes someone in the eye, let him get close and kick him in the balls, just like it was done years ago.

John will check it with a lunging punch to the face, or a leg check into a side kick that will make the opponent reconsider right away.

I think your strategy is terrible.

The best way to beat Jones is put someone in there with him that has an equally awkward style and comparable reflexes (like Machida), get inside, and knock him the fuck out early.

And even then such a person has an even shot at best due to the size disparity.

If he isn't taken out early Jones will wear the opponent down with slams and figure them out.
You are correct in that regard.

Also, a really good Jits Guy that can close might beat him.

Or another big guy that can throw down.

You seem especially butthurt, buddy. Which one of your idols claimed that they lost due to eye pokes after they were pulverized by Jon Jones? ???
