jordan was awesome... but that "Push off" that he got on byron to sink that game-winner versus the Jazz...
let's just say Lebron woudln't have gotten away with that.
it was the 90s... the era of DYNASTIES. NFL loved the Cowboys and they got gifts. NBA loved Jordan and he got calls. Haney won nonstop titles, then Yates won nonstop titles. They coudln't update MARKETING materials very quickly... I mean, you didn't know who won the Olympia until 3 months after the actual show in the early 90s, unless you were there or your gym owner mentioned it lol...
Nowadays, it doesn't crush GNC to replace a Cutler poster with a Heath poster. It doesn't cost a fortune for the NFL to update their "print" material about the world champion Cowboys. The NBA doesn't "need" a dynasty and isn't making a fortune off an invincible aura that Jordan has... he was a once in 5 lifetimes marketing 'perfect storm' and him losing in the Finals would have cost millions... once he started winning, aside from the Magic series there was no way they could fix lol, he was gonna win it every year.
Look at the youtube clips of the phantom calls against the Knicks every year. They kept giving him the calls when Knicks were up 2-0 in a series, every time. whoever was shutting jordan down would suddenly have 5 fouls at the start of the 3rd quarter lol.
I think lebron started out a spoiled, overhyped baby. I think jordan is a cut-throat badass. But I think in the long run, LBJ is just bigger and better and dominating in the GH era against WORLD athletes. Jordan dominated in the dianabol era with the best the USA had to offer.
