where did this myth that lebron isn't "competitive" start?  i swear one talking head blurted that out and then everybody ran with it

does he have to punch a teammate to be "competitive"?

how many titles did jordan have at lebron's age?  i would take pippen and rodman (or grant) as teammates over a fading wade and bosh, not to mention jackson over spoelstra

it's not lebron's fault that players prefer playing in glamorous cities over cleveland, no player wins by themselves

E

I didn't say he wasn't competitive. But he's not on Jordan's 'level' as a closer and competitor. Jordan has punched a teammate before. Ask Steve Kerr.

Pippen was one of the 50 best players of all time.  He was MVP of the all-star game the year after MJ left, and they kicked ass in the playoffs despite losing MJ.

Heat without leBron.... LMAO... they'd be horrible.  Look at Cleveland... from Finals to Lottery with LBJ leaving town.   Lebron got to the finals with scrubs.  MJ needed Pippen to do it.  Pippen was a greater player than Wade.   Pippen was just SICK awesome in his prime.  He played for 11 seasons with the bulls... so he was OLD when MJ left.  Looking at how he did with portland, that's not fair, he was mid to late 30s by then, and drank like a mofo.

Jordan is an awesome tale of working your ass to the top.
LeBron is an awesome example of handed everything and spoiled rotten and "king james" before he finished high school.

But LeBron is better, his legacy will be better.   He just has a better body, takes better care of self, and got an earlier start thanks to no college.
The Heat would not be terrible if they didn't get Lebron, maybe not 2 more championships and on the verge of a threepeat. D.Wade took them to a championship in 2007 with the help of a lazy Shaq, Zoe and others. Pat Riley would have rebuilt with or without Lebron.

The Bulls without Jordan (1994) also added Toni Kukoc who was a very good player (the best in Europe at the time).

Big deal.  In the world outside the NBA this amounts to nothing.  I stopped watching long ago.

MJ didn't win a ring until he was 28.

In a more competitive era,
LeBron has been to the Finals 4 times and won 2 titles, and is coasting for at least another Finals trip, at age 29.

ANYWHERE he goes in the league, you'll have stars lined up to play for less $ in order to win 2-3 rings with him.

With today's rules, Jordan would average 50 per game.

But he woudln't have the dynasty.  Refs didn't hand series to lebron, and they didn't hand it to duncan either.

He'd be a Durant today.   VERY good, and wins some, loses some.

That argument doesn't really work in LeBron's favor though (Jordan did it in fewer years).  I don't see Miami winning this year but maybe they will surprise me.  With as bad as Indiana has been lately they should at least get to the Finals.

If you swap LeBron on those Cavs teams out for Jordan I would say zero titles.

so you penalize lebron because he was ready for the nba at a younger age?

i was referring to jordan punching a teammate

also didn't the bulls make the eastern conference finals when jordan played baseball?

i think the cavs became the worst team in the league when lebron left

Lebron took cleveland to finals
Jordan never took wizards to finals

Lebron is winning with spoelstra,? spestea ? Spoltra? Eric? Erik?

Jordan couldnt win without phil jackson

Jordan was well past his prime when he joined the Wizards. While I'm sure Washington was thrilled to have MJ & while his numbers were respectable, I don't think the majority of people really expected him to lead them to b-ball glory. How many titles does LeBron have w/o Spoelstra? MJ was 6 for 6 in the finals. What's LeBron's Finals record thus far?

You obviously are clueless and know nothing about the NBA. Lebron has one of highest basketball IQ's  and is a student of the game.

that was the case when he was 18.  But ten years later, he's very efficient and shrewd on the basketball court.   His defensive prowess alone shows that.  watch him play - very little wasted movement or energy.  Fundamentally, he's very very good.  There are a lot of dudes with near-lebron talent that are on the bench someplace.  He has a body that is 10% better than everyone else in the league... but that alone isn't enough if he doesn't travel and move and play wisely.  One step in an inefficient direction and that fast break doesn't happen.

nope.
if you looked at Jordan you would get called for a foul, Lebron gets hacked every time his in the post, but refs swallow the whistle.
Jordan was light years ahead of his competitors, john starks and joe dumars. fuck that, bring 90's Jordan to play now he will be second best to lebron...Sorry
Jordan is the greatest, 6 rings. I don't like Magic Johnson, kobe is a better laker then him.
Lebron is better then Kobe, no question, I believe kobe is done, he will be 36 and he will have another injury next season.

I recall this series vividly, wade was super, Alonzo was amazing, shaq was a fat lazy liability. I don't think shaq had more then 2 blocks that whole series, Alonzo was averaging 4 blocks per game. Alonzo helped Miami more then shaq did.

Lebron has no desire to lead the NBA in scoring, he can if he wanted to.
Kevin Durant is going to be ringless no matter how many scoring titles he has.

Thanks mate,
I have been off getbig for a while due to other commitments, but this is the perfect time to come back.
we should set up 2014 NBA playoff thread.
