All those "diets" are sadomasochistic for no reason.  Its madness why anyone would choose to live like that.  Some will claim to "enjoy" it (nonsense).  Others will say, "but it gets me results the quickest".  The thing is, if someone was just doing as you and I do, there would be no need for a quick fix as you will get there regardless with no amount of suffering.  The ones who use keto as a quick fix continually re-adopt that approach which is amusing and very telling.  I think its more of some sort of mental block more than anything.  They can`t handle food psychologically in any way at all.

i would drop the protein and up the carbs though bro.

if you are cutting 60 c, 25 p and 15 f is bang on and you won't even feel like you are dieting.

made penne with pesto, goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and pan-roasted chicken breast yesterday.  making pork fried rice today.  thought about making pizza as well, but i'll save it for next week.

when i'm not trying something new, my fall-back meal plan has become:

Wake up:  2 scoops whey, 16 oz almond milk
At work:  500 ml coffee with a little cream / stevia
After work:  1 tbsp peanut butter, 1lb pan-roasted chicken breast, 1-2 heads steamed broccoli, and some sort of tasty rice/pasta dish.
Post-workout:  1 cup greek yogurt, 1 cup berries, 2 packets stevia.  Sometimes 1/3 cup or so granola mixed in.

My theory is that presenting diet/"fitness" as being much more complicated than it really is gives unskilled scam artists a way to scratch out a living.

That does sound good. But I still think portion control is needed. The amount of pasta and the size of the pizza for instance.

for sure... while I don't count calories exactly, adonis-style, i know the cal/gram measurement of most foods i eat, and eyeball it constantly.

for example, when i make a pasta dish, i always pour out two handfuls of noodles, which is about 1 cup or 400 cals.  for the pesto dish, i took one heaping tablespoon (~150 cal), and i cut the goat cheese to about 100 cals worth, based on the packaging info.  i try to eat less than 2000 cal, generally speaking.  if i make that goal, i'm happy.

i'm constantly trying to see how little i can get away with when dispensing those calorie-rich flavoring ingredients.  and usually, less turns out to be better!  when i first started cooking, i poured on oils, cheeses, etc. with abandon and would often make myself nauseous.  over time, i learned that using less actually enhanced the flavor of the dish by allowing the milder flavors of the pasta and meat to come through instead of being masked by the the sauce, seasoning, etc.

I made a 14,000 calorie Hummingbird Cake last night and today I am going to make Haluski!

haha, every time you post the stuff you cook, i have to google something new... these dishes look really interesting.  you have a very different style than me; wish i could dine in your kitchen some time! (no homo) :D

Adonis diet is dangerous and unhealthy, the idea of eating what you want and watch your calories is nuts, this can lead to the body not getting enough vitamins minerals and antioxidants you might lose some weight but your joints are going to hurt and your body will eventually break down from improper nutrition.

Do you have any clue what the average American eats?

Compared to that, this is like a free artery-cleansing regimen.

Guys  the point I am trying to make is if a person wants to lose weight and you say to them eat whatever you want just watch your calories you are sending them down a dangerous road with their diet and health.
