Clippers player salaries last year were $73 million. Sterling pays black men millions of dollars to play for his team, but because of one 5 minute audio recording he gets banned for life and fined. It's also a double-standard because Sterling's white. For example, Ray Lewis was involved in a murder. No ban, but a $250,000 fine. So saying something "racist" is a fine 10 times worse than conspiracy to commit murder?
apples and oranges...due to the fact that sterling is an owner, he has to pay for decent players. He can't pay exceptional players 500k...they'd go elsewhere.
One was tried in a court of law and public opinion. And this right here, is being tried in the court of public opinion...and it may cost him dearly. But, he is 80 yrs old. People will always bring up the Lewis trial, just like you did, for the rest of his life. He could go on and do great things, but people will always bring that up. And I believe he has accepted that....it's life.
And let's not forget, had Sterling learned from the Alexandra Castro escapade, he wouldn't be in this situation. I believe in that situation, his wife sued for monies that Ms. Castro got from Mr. Sterling. And again, in this case as well, there is suit against this new woman for 1.8 million...
Seems like Sterling's wife tries to clean up his messes...his infidelities.
