It's actually illegal not to rent on the basis of race, among other things. So while off the record people practice that in some places, if he was ever caught as saying he didn't rent to black people, he could've been sued for a ton of money.

As we previously reported ... Sterling pledged $3 MIL to UCLA for kidney research with $425K up front.  The school is returning the $425K and refusing to accept the rest.


Ironic that his money for kidney research is being returned, as blacks are the most at-risk population for kidney disease.
