Not really since You Tube and Vimeo are supporting 4K viewing. Now all you need is a 4K monitor or tv  to see the quality ;)

no....youtube does have hd in 1080 p...but that only means 1920 x 1080 pixels, but the compression rate is very poor....means bad quality....vimeo only has 720 p , for hd you have to pay ...and also poor compression....so 4 k doesnt make sense, if even hd doesnt make real sense

I'm talking from experience on this matter and I don't think you are. The footage I shot with a 4k camera and watched on my 4k monitor looks way better than any HD footage. And even after You tubes compression, the video still looks better than any HD video when I view it back on the same 4K monitor. It is nearly identical to the raw footage I shot. 4K only doesn't make sense if you don't have a 4K monitor or tv to view it on. Other than that, it makes a lot of sense. Especially since that is the next level we are going to whether you like it or not. It will be the streaming standard within 2 years. Netflix starts streaming 4K this year and the world cup will be broadcast in 4K in Japan in a week or so.
