Be careful NBA. Your Article 13 could cost you dearly if Sterling sues.

The A Hole bigot Donald Sterling has been a highly successful attorney for over 50 years. His associates are going over NBAs Article 13 now. I just read it on a sports legal site. Oooops. No where in there can the league force a sale unless there is financial abuse or misconduct with the team, other owners or his Clippers staff and players. In any event history shows  these type of cases can last 3-5 years. If he wins he will get triple damages. Lets say team is worth 1 Billion in 3 years (conservative) that 3 Billion....a devastating hit to the league. He can sell the team now to his estranged wife for a low ball amount with the stipulation she can only resell to his designated relatives. When he dies they are his heirs anyway. Then the NBA has no legal action.

Sterling has owned the Clips for some 30 years. If somewhere in his files and E mails just one (1) other NBA owner has used a racial slur and was not likewise punished,  he can prove the NBA action is arbitrary and he wins TRIPLE.

In any event if he sues and delays and dies its a family financial win. When he dies the Fed State capital gains tax of 33% goes away. He bought the team for 12.5 million and today its worth 800,000 million. That's some 1/4 billion gain for the family.

Be very careful NBA. Oprah don't put the For Sale sign up yet on that Santa Barbara mansion.  This guy is a very rich very smart snake. Well not so smart taking over doses of Viagra and playing with a toothy tranny.

NBA = selective enforcement.  Kobe screams homosexual slurs in public DURING a game and gets fined 1/3 of a game check.   This dude, however horrible and coward his words, said them in his own home, on the phone with a sexual partner.

It's not a civil matter, is it?  There would be civil implications that could be addressed in court eventually but the NBA's decision is a purely internal thing, no?  

They can't force him to sell something that he owns but they could just eliminate the team from the league and not schedule any more clipper games if he declined to sell, reducing the value of the team to zero.  He could try suing for damages but the onus would be on him to prove there was a breach of contract.  Legal contract, not just NBA club rules.  Club rules aren't laws.  Idk under what conditions they constitute a contract.

Lawyer or not, no way this dude stays around.  He's going to be blackballed.

Sounds like Silver's statement was nothing more than a stupid wish, to quell the masses and keep people attending the games.
