People tend to get superhungry after a workout, which is the aforementioned "anabolic window". In high school, I noticed that I could scarf down considerably more food shortly after training than I could at other times of the day.

People's metabolisms are different and it can change with time and age.

"A while" for me is 30 minutes. Even after having a shake shortly after I finish training (i.e. when I get to my car). By the time I get home and play with my kids for a few minutes, I'm STARVING.

Im not a big eater and I dont really get that "starving" feeling, if I do I can ignore it and it goes away.

i have to remind myself to eat sometimes.

I was a big "eater" (as in calorie-consumer) in my younger years. The strangest part was that I could go to bed, feeling stuffed and miserable. But, in the morning, my stomach would growl so badly that it would wake me from my sleep. I didn't even need my alarm anymore. You'd think I hadn't eaten in days, when just 7-8 hours prior to getting up, I felt as if I was going to explode.

Father Time and my lack of activity outside the gym has calmed my once-flame-thrower metabolism. So, I have to eat a bit smarter now.

Ditto.  All the blood is in the muscles, not in the gastrointestinal tract.
