I think your assumption is correct, in that Ron probably removed it with the purpose of protecting another member's identity/privacy.

No. Trolling is trolling and it happens here every day. Excessive trolling becomes old and quite boring, especially if the topic matter isn't funny. If we have successful (i.e. funny) trolls on the forum, we let them do their thing. On the other hand, if their material sucks and simply serves but to clog the forum with garbage, we start to cut down on their stage time.

Not exactly. I mean, I think our moderation is still, comparatively speaking, extremely laxed. The vast majority of forums out there won't even give a troll the time of day, let alone a "gimmick".
