He got beat by Lee Labrada that year. Jonny should have won. I was there with him.

Back in the mid-80's, Jon Aranita was a trainer at a gym I worked out at for a short time.  He was not a big guy, but had a great physique.

Kai, who were on that same stage and make these two looking like midgets. He was also in better condition, so when these two diet down to competition weight, Kai is still bigger and better. Sadly he will not win, because of the grapefruit

I was at the 85 Nationals in Miami when Labrada won. Aranita looked great. I really wanted to see Rory Leidelmeyer that year but he never competed.

After the the finals, went to the Sheraton to a big buffet, it was right next to the Knight Center where the show was held. Most of the Competitors were there eating at different tables. Kevin Wayne was there taking pics for Flex. He came up to our table took a few shots and said it would be in Flex in Muscleaneous column when the issue for the Nationals came out. Issue came out never used the pics, never appeared in Flex.
