I don't care who is straight, who is gay. If anything, Sam being gay means there's one less rich male for us straight dudes to compete with in the dating pool haha. So no reason to hate.
That being said - - Michael Sam doesn't seem to mean "I just want to play football". He's an activist, he's a reality TV star, he's a shock-value entertainer... gay or straight, that cake-face makeout session would be over-the-top, no matter what, was shock value.
In this day and age, young dudes that try to bullshit the public... it doesn't work anymore. Jonathan Martin tried to play the bullied victim - But texts from a year ago clearly show he was making death threats back. Michael Sam said he just wants to be a football player - but in a span of 5 days, he's 1) played cake kissy face 2) signed a reality tv show deal 3) complained about his draft position 4) predicted he would already be dominating on pro field with 3 sacks a game.
Dude is trying to be a rock star. That's cool, but just admit it. Don't play the "i'm just a football player" thing, it's not genuine.
