WWE Stock Collapses
« on: May 16, 2014, 07:33:00 AM »
The numbers for the network aren't gonna offset the decrease in PPV revenue. In addition, the television deal they got didn't live up to expectations.

If I were a WWE employee, I'd wanna stay clear of Vince, today.

Actually, this is an opportunity to pick up some shares at bargain prices.  A .48 annual dividend makes the stock worth a little risk.

Yeah, but that Div isn't guaranteed. If earnings continue to disappoint, it can go bye bye.

I've found in cases like this, it's best to stay clear. It's a big market with 1000s of stocks from which to choose.

Of course...please don't get me wrong, this is a risky proposition.

It just seems like VKM is at his best when his back is against the wall (unless Stone Cold is in the room   :D      )

Wouldn't touch it - shitty fundamentals.

Trade it at your own risk. Not a keeper by any stretch IMO.

Agree.

I can't see where their growth comes from.

Reports that Vinny Mac lost a third of a billion dollars as a result.

Still a good buy if you purchased when it was under $5
About 2 years ago... :-\

It's very easy to cherry pick a timeframe and say, "Had you bought here, and..."

Executing it in the present is a lot harder.

The big run up in the stock price took place over the past year as a result of the network hype.

So, Vince is basically back to where he was, financially, a year ago.

We should all be that "poor."

That's almost as much as Linda spent on her two campaign runs!

I'm wondering if it will be mentioned on Raw. I doubt it.

I went ahead and purchased a whopping 10 shares today.

Worst case scenario, I'm out 100 bucks and have some memories.

Very true...like all the high school kids who do that lame class project of picking stocks and following them all year...as time goes on, the "gains" they claim to have "earned" get to be astronomical.

The only time past performance really means anything in investing is when it's to illustrate how well an individual investor or fund manager has done - mainly how much money they've piled up and managed to hold on to.

Past performance of companies and individual investments (stocks, bonds, commodities, options, etc.) doesn't mean much, unless it's in reference to an individual investor or money manager's ability to invest for themselves using such investments as tools - i.e., a track record of success or failure of such an investor.

If someone is going to give me advice or criticism of my own investing, or try to sell me on their methods, or get me to put a little money to work with them, they'd better have a verifiable track record of success going back many years or decades.

I've got puts on it. I'll continue to be bearish as long as they're bleeding money.

Let's say Vince steps down or dies, does anyone think there's someone who can replace him?

I don't see anyone, HHH included, who has the combination of Wrestling IQ and business sense to do so.

i heard the total is now up to 700 million for a two month period. i guess daniel bryan isn't what's best for business. put me in charge . the first thing i'd do is get rasslin back on saturday mornings 2 hour showgive the kids a choice between cartoons and wrestling. bring back main event on a once a month basis.hold short half hour rock or rap concerts to balance out the live shows be innovative  beside recycling the same gimmicks.

I wonder why they didn't go back to being a private company when things were still good. Being a publicly traded company comes with a huge array of additional headaches, particularly these days.

true , it seems a lot of the oldtimers[ric flair] blame guys like foley and misterio, sabu etal for taking the business to a new level and with it the higher expecations of it's workers.   i see  misterio on bad knees out there breaking his ass doing crazy moves yet and get booed or even worse being ignored by the fans. fans will forget daniel bryan just like they forgot the dynamite kid once he was in a wheelchair. iguess the business peaked and is now headed for a downward spiral. unless they can attract the younger generation. maybe if they get justin bieberman and lil wayne to become  wrestlers. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
