And that's why I neither watch nor listen.  There's plenty of talent out there, it's just not on there, if you get my meaning.

People just gave a hologram of a dead person a standing ovation.

This is how you know you're getting old, me and the missus were like "wow, that's horrible" and the audience goes crazy

Every Friday I glance at the entertainment section of newspaper. Never recognise any of the top 10 singles or albums, probably couldn't name any number 1s in past 6/7 years.

Beside music charts there are the highest grossing movies. Bad Neighbours is grossing 3x the second place movie (Spiderman 2). Says it all really.

Every pop song is computer generated. Some don't even have a real musician playing on the track. The voice is auto tuned because the "star" just has a voice that couldn't be heard live because it would sound terrible.

They lip sync the songs when you pay outrageous ticket prices to see the act. I remember when Usher was booed off the stage in Germany and his publicity team put out spin that he was sick.  One of the tricks being used in lip sync technology is that it becomes a 85% recorded and 15% live singing the hook or a repeated line of a song. At the end of the song the mike becomes live. Another thing that pisses me off is musicians on stage pretending to play when it's a recording. I have seen this at wedding and on the biggest stages with pop bands.

There is something about live music. It vibrates on your soul.  Live music isn't perfect. In it's imperfectness it is perfect. It's a human communicating to another human. It seems there are very few current Rock bands today that have any measure of success. Hearing a truly live rock band, jazz, orchestra, big band, or a country band has a completely different feel from listening to canned music.
