don't have much experience with grip stuff, but with fighters, i'll have them place 10lb plates (with more weight hooked on to it) between their fingers and have them do 'farmers walks' while squeezing the plates. or do farmers walks while pinching the smooth sides of two plates together with their thumb and 1-2 fingers... this is mostly for the muscles in the hands though.

there's strongman and grip strength specific forums for this stuff.

I think goheavy.com used to have a grip forum.. been probably 10yrs since I was there though. dunno if it's still up.

I'm sur you can also find stuff on youtube... guys doing pinch grip pullups on 2x4's in ceiling rafters and whatnot.

I worked up to the CoC number 3 when I was younger, think they're somewhere in my parents' garage but that won't tear a phone book. That and rolling frying pans is 70% technique.

I think grip strength is very genetic, hard to train for.

I'm very strong at "holding" a ton of weight, but that's only because I don't have short fingers. Being strong at crunching grippers for example = has to do with how your hands are built.

One I picked up from Judo Champ Neil Adams is to simply open your hands wide then close them.

Sounds easy until you try to do 100.

Farmers walk.

I never understood why you need to 'walk' to increase grip strength.

Just hold heavy DB's for as long as possible and stand there... same thing.

To add to a previous post, hand size is relevant. I was in Dublin zoo once and they had a thing to compare your hand size to primates, my hand was slightly larger than a gorilla's. Big hands = better grip and more leverage.
