That's the worst fucking poem I've ever read.
Is that seriously something people consider good?
There is an old Skool saying, "words are like bullets"
So, shooting with words, is using the words as bullets.
There is term used sometimes "a cutting glance". So, you are giving a look at someone like you want to cut them, harm them.
And, you have to think about the time, it was published in 1978 (And Still I rise) during the Black Empowerment era (Afros, etc).
It was written in free verse. So that is the reason why the rhyme scheme is diff. But, the imagery is there. Especially for those who had to live during the Civil Rights era.
