I liked her a lot and she will be missed.

She was an atheist and a gun owner actually. Carried a gun on her at all times and was proud to do so.

Sad news indeed. Maya Angelou was 86 years old. She was a very accomplished and well respected author and poet. What a loss.

I met her when I was 17. Even then I recall her poetry being just mediocre. Seemed like a lot of the praise she received was because she was a black woman.

Langston Hughes OTH was a true American poet genius.

she really sucked man , thats all they ever talked about in public school back in the day made me sick we had to hear about her constantly. Trust me man as a friend i would advise against reading that shit

Like so many "beat poets" before and cRap arteests after, she was so awful that I would neither read nor recite her drivel. This doesn't mean she was a bad person, just a lousy poet.
