Raw quasi-powerlifting again ... technique?
« on: May 29, 2014, 02:48:39 PM »
Hiya all.

After a long hiatus from training and especially the big 3, I'm kicking around the idea of training those lifts again with some seriousness.  I'm not really out to do heavy singles or doubles, but I probably will find myself working up to, and trying to best, 5-6 RMs on a consistent basis.

I think I know how to squat and pull well enough, but benching -- flat and incline -- gives me a little pause.  These days, everybody and their fucking uncle have a different take on how someone should set up.  That T-Nation Chris Thibaudeau fella says drawing the scapula down and back is for shirted lifters only; he thinks raw lifters should bench with traps "shrugged" and ... well, that's about all I gather from him.  No word on arching the back, nothing about elbow-tucking -- ?

Any input's appreciated, though I should caution you that I know I'm all homo, my mom's box has seen many of your mouths (and probably worse), etc. ;)

Sincerely, thanks.
