Portugal shows you can NEVER give up.  Last kick - 5 seconds to go in 'injury' time - they score.

Wow. Stunning.

Now comes Germany vs. USA ... in which USA has a great chance to advance, even if they lose.

Some shitty USA clearance early. But that last por was a quality play.

While it feels like a loss USA played well

Brazil's Mário Zagallo and West Germany's Franz Beckenbauer are the only people to date to win the World Cup as both player and head coach. Zagallo won in 1958 and 1962 as a player and in 1970 as head coach.[69] Beckenbauer won in 1974 as captain and in 1990 as head coach.[70] Italy's Vittorio Pozzo is the only head coach to ever win two World Cups (1934 and 1938).[71] All World Cup winning head coaches were natives of the country they coached to victory.

Ps: Pelé is the only player to have won three World Cup winners' medals (1958, 1962, and 1970)

Yeah but all Brazilians hate Pele now, total sellout.

I wouldn't stress much if I was American. A draw guarantees USA and Germany qualification, with Germany 1st on goal difference. Ghana would need a win by +2 goals to get through. Portugal need a miracle.

Beginning of game, I would have loved a draw.

Now that feels like a loss  >:(

Exactly. And the US players sound like it seems that way to them.

;D Anytime Pele is interviewed and defends FIFA gf goes mad and tells me he is a sellout. She prefers Maradonna.

I'm loving this WC, be good if USA get through, always good to see sport spread much as I man crush Ronaldo.

This should give idea how nigh impossible it is for Portugal... need 6 goal swing to qualify... and Ghana have been good.

They rely on 1 player and he is injured. Also his supporting cast is depleted.

At least it was a good goal - would hate to see that happen on some crappy goal or bad referee call

Tell me. It's amazing if a bad goal goes in for your team, incredibly heart breaking if against you. This fucked my club team over, will give you a laugh though:

This match was incredibly important. Penalty to Leicester, if they score they go to final and chance of promotion (worth £100m), if they miss they lose... just watch....

They (USA GER) both need a draw or a win to advance.

Can they just sit on the field for 90 minutes?

Germany and Austria did it before, to name one example.

Not likely with this German team, they are fiercely competitive.

I thought Murica have been good. They play a pretty open expansive game, have some decent players and are entertaining. Shame that have not really got a world class striker.

As you say not likely at all, the last time in 82 they played out a draw with their ''friends'' Austria.
