That would be nice but at least Graham made somewhat of an effort to reach out to The Tea Party on issues which never seemed to be the case with Cantor.

As I've stated before, it's a very interesting time we live in. Cantor put a significant amount of cash in this race but in the end social media has gotten so huge and information moves around so fast that it really can offset that advantage the establishment had for all those years by your average person becoming acclimated with social media and exchanging ideas and opinions. That is SO much more powerful than money in many cases.

I don't think this type of big time upset was possible 20 years ago.

Lindsey did an easy curb stomp to the rest of his competion.....had more votes than ALL of the challengers combined. 


As far as Cantor is concerned....very surprised but unfortunately that seat will likely go to a Democrat as you can expect a lot of money pulling in to flip that seat and it will be pretty easy.  Tea Party views are simply too extreme to Virginia.

But yes, overall, we don't see any more of those million man tea party marches, and most of their canddiates are out of office now.  If you can use this one victory to proclaim they're still alive, then yes, they're 10% alive and 90% dead.  Let's throw a parade.   Maybe we should use "highly decimated" instead of dead, i agree there.

The Tea Party just stream rolled Texas, one of the most powerful states in the Union. The incumbent Lieutenant Governor lost by 30 points. And then top to bottom they cleaned house in other important positions of power, state wide.

Now they take out the second most powerful man in The House and are  favored to take out a 6 term Senator ALL within the span of a few weeks.

Scott and Crist are in a virtual dead heat right now...edge to Scott in the midterm election of a lame duck second term President.

The tea party has been successful in pulling guys like Graham back towards the base.   They've also had people like Joni Ernst win the Senate primary in Iowa and McDaniel is about to take out Thad Cochran in MS. 

Let's not forget that after the 2010 elections, the IRS launched a massive campaign to keep Tea party groups from gaining the same tax exempt status that Liberal groups enjoyed.  Who knows how influential the group would have been in 2012 had there been a level playing field.

First and foremost a quick shoot out to Mia Love, who is poised to become the first Black Female Republican elected to Congress this fall. The crossover appeal is beginning to take root.

On the subject of Tea Party Presidency, Ted Cruz has the political skill to dazzle on the big stage and would likely get the better of any potential Democratic nominee I see out there right now in a National Debate.

Will the will of the people be there to elect him come November of 2016? I really don't know.

In another surprising move to move to the center, Rand Paul endorsed Maine moderate Susan Collins, a move I certainly didn't see coming.

They have absolutely no arguement for opposing the Tea party principles, so they always fall back on the standard 'radical' and 'crazy' lines...without ever explaining how they actually are radical or crazy.
