Germans were CRAZY TOUGH !
Best engineers in the world, great equipment, great leadership in the field .... but ultimately good always conquers evil in the end
Germany has given the world  A LOT !  science, medicine, religion, industry, the arts, they have touched every area of human endeavor and accomplishment, a great people for sure

The Germans were good, for sure. But in the case of a Soviet armor, quantity has a quality all it's own.

They took on the entire world and could have won if it weren't for Hitler.

Yes.  However, they basically took on THE ENTIRE WORLD and almost won.  Without a handful of tactical/diplomatic blunders on their part, the outcome of this war could have been very different.

I often wonder what the world would be like today if this had been the case.  Would USSR still have become a super-power and smashed them later irregardless?  Not sure.

PORN would all be pissing and bukkake.  But seriously, the GERMANS weren't alone, they had allies in Japan and Italy.  Just be grateful the Japanese were neutered effectively.  We have the Russians to thanks for all this., the US were late to the party and the Japanese would have surrendered anyway as they also feared the might Russians.

Japan was certainly not a negligible ally (kept US forces tied up elsewhere if nothing else) but Italy was pretty incompetent military-wise and practically useless weren't they?

The Germans have ALWAYS been tough, going  as far back to Rome -(yeah not Germany yet I know) - but the Germanic peoples in the same area were nobody to fool with, like the Scottish just freakin' tough people

WW1 they came close, WW2 same deal, almost winning a land locked 2 front war.... BEST engineers and military  equipment in the world, hands down, their technology and science achievements  laid the ground work for much of the 20th century human expansion into almost every field imagineable

People who say the Germans were over rated, I just don't get their logic

They took on the whole world..
He sent his troops to conquer Russia with no winter clothes, took on superpowers countries U.S and USSR. UK was also considered a very powerful country which he bombed and was allied with the USA, 'Murica would eventually entered the war.. 'cus they would not watch  Hitler pwn the UK into a living pulp!

Hitler almost defeated England and his mistake was stopping the blitz bombing of England.
He could have taken all control over Western Europe and stopped fighting and bided his time for 5 years before deciding to attack Russia. After all, he should have learned from Napoleon who also tried to conquer Russia during the winter months! Napoleon lost and so did Hitler.

Yeah, and Bas Rutin would probably lose in a fight against you, Shizzo, Vince Basile, Uncle Junior, and Bluto. What's your point?

QFT, Hitler had no military intelligence and over ruled his military's leader's decisions. He fought in every direction. His army was spread too thin to take on Russia.  Toward the end he had the jet plane but it was to late to go into wide spread production. He could have changed the course of the war.

I just read "Shadow Divers." It's a about a sunk Nazi submarine right off the coast of New Jersey that no American records exist of it's sinking. Imagine their sub was within spitting distance of Manhattan.

The German were doing great until they made the mistake of bombing Pearl Harbor, as described in the documentary Animal House.

I'm not a big WW2 historian buff by any means but did Germany REALLY ever have a chance to pull it off?

They always had USSR to contend with and eventually they would have to face The US who already had the ultimate game changer with Nuclear Weaponry PLUS a whole country full of armed civilians. Tough to see them overcoming that obstacle.

Sure...start the invasion earlier when they wanted to instead of later in the spring. Delay another year until they had a bigger mechanized force...develop a heavy bomber....the small things that led to their defeat are crazy. They had a chance....

FUCK HITLER !!

 ;D

That's what they want you to think.  Hitler was installed by the powers that be.  Just another tool/puppet/boogeyman to blame everything on.   People need to ask themselves... where did the Germans get all the money to manufacture all those tanks, bombs, airplanes, ships, subs, rockets, guns, ammo, etc... ?  They didn't steal it from Jews, that's for sure.

Same thing is going on today with current terrorists (whatever name they give them).  Central bankers provide the financing and the US/CIA is training and arming them.

95% of people are totally asleep and believe everything the media shoves down their throat.  Critical thinkers are a rare breed.

Hopeless choice of ally in Mussolini who caved in..

Mussolini did not surrender, he was betrayed by opportunists in his Grand Council who could see that Germany would not win the war.

However, the Germans suspected this and sent an occupation force into Italy.

As a result, half of Italy was surrendered to the Allies.

Mussolini was rescued from imprisonment and led the Italian Social Republic from 1943-1945. In this period, Italian soldiers of this state continued to fight the Allies right till the end of the war.

So half of Italy fell to the Allies while the other half formed a die-hard militarised Fascist state.

Remember, it was Italy which invented Fascism, as well as the concept of a totalitarian, uniformed and militarised society.
