Why do we donate blood for free when everyone up the line all the way to the recipient makes money off of it?

Get Biggers on AAS should be donating blood regularly to not only save lives but to keep RBCs in check. I am told by a multitude of of Red Cross and other workers in the gathering industry that they fear 'shared' needles... Was also told if you self or doc inject mark NO on the AAS question. The gatherers do make money. Red Cross profits are used for things like Hurricane Katrina. They spend all their money on you and me in time of disaster. The other companies are strictly profit motivated.

Blood saves lives....I had 3 transfusions and the blood was available. Thank you. I have since donated over 2 gallons as payback.

One could say the same about bodybuilding...

Except for the "makes money" part.

I one donated blood in some sketchy neighborhood in Miami and they actually pay us $20 when we donate. Can't find a place near me that does that though.

You can`t pay me enough to do it.  I am frightened by it.  Makes me sick just thinking about it.

I'd be more apt to do it if they didn't have such incompetent hacks doing the draws.

In some states, there are more stringent requirements to become a cosmetologist than there are to become a phlebotemist.

Attend any blood drive and observe or listen to the conversations among "staff" and it becomes abundantly clear!  One is left wondering, "how the fv@% did you ever make it past the 7th grade?"
