seriously... what's the point?

once you've had "bad things" happen to you.. once you've been in bad situations, you tend to realize "oh... well... that's not so bad." and you lose that fear.

there's no point walking around each day, or ANY day, afraid of anything.

if you die, you die. not like you're gonna look back and say "damnit... I fucking died".

everybody dies.

there's a watch I used to see advertised in Esquire (I think?) that had "Remember" as the hour hand, and "You will die" as the minute hand... I loved that watch.

you think about that next time you're doing a "wooaaa is me" pitty party and worrying about a bunch of bullshit.

I've lost everything in my life, and you know what? it wasn't soo bad.... and you know what else? I got it all back.... so dying? big fucking deal.

the ones who accept the fact that they will die, will always have an advantage over the ones who will do anything to avoid it.

Tyler agrees.

Tyler agrees.

I remember reading the book in prison and thinking "shit, this is all daoist/buddhist philosophy" (I ran a Buddhist study group).. obviously stuff I didn't catch when I first watched the movie years prior.

I think the Buddhist view of death differs greatly from the typical Christian view.

one embraces, the other fears.

Hmmm...How does that go?  Know Christ, no fear.  No Christ, know fear.

People are people and  Buddhists are just as fearful of the unknown as anyone else including Christians. Some more, some less.

I recently lost my little brother, he was 24. When I say recently I mean very recently, so seeing this thread pop up is a little eary.

Let me tell you death is no Joke. Nothing could be worse then death, there is no coming back, that's it. I dont think people should fear it though - we will however I think, it can't really be helped i guess.

To the OP, you are thinking very foolishly. Let me tell you, you never think it will happen to you or someone you love untill it actually does.

You should be as careful with your health etc as possible. You may live till 90 or die tomorrow, but regardless, you should never be careless with your life or anybody elses for that matter.

Dont act as if you have no control over it though. You will die, but why would you want to speed up the process.
