Pre-workout poison?
« on: June 25, 2014, 12:47:05 PM »

How many people here use pre-workout/Nitric oxide formula's?

Arginine, aakg, and citrulline all convert to nitric oxide which combines with oxygen to form peroxynitrite, a pro-oxidant which causes cellular oxidative injurty (cytotoxicity). Peroxynitrite interacts with lipids, DNA, and proteins via direct oxidative reactions or via indirect, radical-mediated mechanisms. These reactions trigger cellular responses ranging from subtle modulations of cell signaling to overwhelming oxidative injury, committing cells to necrosis or apoptosis. In vivo, peroxynitrite generation represents a crucial pathogenic mechanism in conditions such as stroke, myocardial infarction, chronic heart failure, diabetes, circulatory shock, chronic inflammatory diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders.

Thank you BSN!

Tried Neuroserge, White Flood, Focus XT, Hemo-rage, Enhanced in the last months.

Enhanced was the shittiest for me.

Focus XT is the closest feeling to Craze I've come upon so far.

This is well established that NO will cause oxidative stress. To what extent is still pretty unclear. I don't think its disastrous...either way I still take extra vitamin C pre workout especially if I'm taking NO supps.

Craze is still the nectar of the gods.

The pre-DMAA HemoRage gave me obscene amounts of energy.

Haven't used any supps in years. I drink coffee before training and that's about it.

my preworkout is no breakfast a shower and some loud music blasting in my ears.

maybe some test suspension on odd occasions

but if you need a dangerous chemically loaded supplement to be able to have energy to train, then you must be the biggest beta bitch on the planet

I find it very easy to lift on a completely empty stomach or even when hungry.

Cardio while hungry is difficult though.

Empty stomach= test booster (or so they say) so good for lifting.
Empty stomach: no glycemia regulation so shitty for running.

I like sitting on my ass after I eat.  4 hours no food, hydrated, no caffeine gives me good focus.  Fwiw.

Hat's off to the guys who train early.  I can't find the groove in the AM.  I'm morning grooveless.
