BB Hack squats, one of my favorite movements for years. And yes, it can be referred to as a reverse DL, without having the knees in the way problem and leaning too far forward (puts extra stress on the lower back and potential injury) for a lot of guys.
Only thing I might differ with, from the guy in the video, is the depth . Might suggest going lower, where the butt touches, or comes very near, the bar. Have also raised heels, on a 2X4, for more direct focus on the quads. Either way, raised heels of flat footed, an excellent quad builder.
His pin suggest was also good. When I'm doing heavier BB Hacks, it will be in a PR with different pin positions, anywhere from 3-4 inches to the top position to mid thigh level. May surprise your self with the amount of weight you can handle with a higher pin position. I almost always include Romanian DL/SLDL's when doing BB Hacks.
Good Luck.
