An unexpected symptom of generation nothingness
« on: June 30, 2014, 07:22:22 AM »
3 girls that I know: aged 19,22,23 share a couple things in common.

1) they do the following non-stop: take Selfies, check Facebook, spread gossip, and send/receive texts.

2) none of these 3 girls have a drivers license!

I found this to be quite odd. These people spend so much time on their smart phones and on the internet that practical things like driving haven taken a back-seat.

They will always get a lift from some loser who is ruining himself with a car lease.

If you have a car, yes.
But...
everything is no hands since updates have to be made.

The Millenials, as the Marketing culture calls them and also has said that these people don't see a reason to driving. They have all their connectivity on their devices. Also, cars are damn expensive, take too much time to maintain, and insure.

Would you rather have these mindless non-stop facebookers behind the wheel while sending/receiving texts?
I think it is great they took their responsibility for not having a drivers license!

Now who would be driving them? Many times the parents or friends with licenses. Also, many of these people want cars---a study was released, and this group wanted cars with all the luxury items found in high end cars, with all the electronics, plus seating for 6, not 5, but six, it also needs to be compact, great on fuel mileage, and cheap.
Basically, we have a generation that wants everything, for (cheap) nothing.

Not me, I don't have a drivers license either.  ;D
I would be a disaster in traffic. A bit ADD-like...  :-[ So, I rely on my bicycle or public transport, or I'll just walk.

The two young ones on the outside still a bit too scared to flip the bird. They'll be the only two success stories of the group.
