After the big 18 wheeler crashes and the T-1000 walks out of the explosion/fire, I remember thinking "how the fuck are they going to stop this thing?"  Fantastic movie.

Exactly, its a movie i wish i could watch for the first time again. Still holds up today, a real epic in a class of its own, no cartoon feel about it.

Godfather 2. Maybe even better than the first, debatable. No need to continue with this, really. No-brainer.

Yup....

Gotta offer up a passionate NO here. No Spielberg or Benchley, no Dreyfuss. Silly special effects. Spielberg was very careful not to overexpose the shark, knowing the special effects limitations at the time. Not here, though, way too much. Cash grab, plain and simple. Original is on AMC right now, btw, followed by the crap you fellas were discussing.

Godfather 2
Empire Strikes Back
Aliens
T2
Dark Knight

I'm sure there are others, but that's what I got for now.

Thats like saying they dont push the boundries now because they know their limitatiions.
Jurassic park SE at the time were great, they look a bit shitty now.

He wasn't planning to use the mechanical shark for much, his words, especially after they couldn't get it to work. Originally, the cage stuff was gonna be a real Australian white and a wetsuited dwarf, but the little fella got frazzled and quit. Some of the real shark footage (very little, though) still made the final cut.

Hard to pick just one.  My list...

Godfather 2
The Empire Strikes Back
Star Trek  The Wrath of Khan
Superman 2
Back to the Future Part 2
Indiana Jones The Last Crusade (technically the 3rd movie, but better than the previous one)
Terminator 2 Judgment day
Aliens
Batman The Dark Knight

To leave The Godfather 2 off that list would get you whacked in 47 states.

Count 'em on one hand.  Empire > 1st & best of series. Khan way > 1st & best of series.  Godfather =, which is saying something.  Aliens < but great fun.  Ledger stole Dark Knight and the series.

Lethal Weapon 2
Rocky 2 was the best Rocky movie besides the original and Rambo 2 was pretty good as well.
Jaws 2
