Ronnie Coleman to retire at 2006 Mr. Olympia
« on: January 29, 2006, 04:02:09 PM »

Sources have said that Ronnie Coleman will announce his retirement at the 2006 Olympia on September 30th - after the Mr. Olympia contest is over - on stage.

No one will argue with him and his critics that Ronnie Coleman is and has been the greatest Mr. Olympia champion to date.

Here's an interesting thought for the day.

Ronnie Coleman may be calling it quits.  A few points:

Recent pics show Ronnie TORE A TRICEP in December.  Not many athletes can come back inside a year from an injury like this, much less a 40+ year old man on top of the sport.

Ronnie will be what, 43 years old for next year's Olympia?  Dickerson barely won it at age 44 in a far less competitive era.

Ronnie has nothing more to prove in the sport- 8 straight Olympias makes him #1.

Ronnie has used higher levels of GH/IGF/Insulin than any previous Mr O champion.  His head is clearly showing a growing skull plate on the front left side.

From recent pics, Ronnie has not touched a weight, has not eaten much, and has not used anything more than maintenance HRT for the last 4 months.

Ronnie lost his LOCK upon the Olympia the minute the judges awarded Gustavo the challenge round at the 05 Olympia.  Gustavo is clearly waiting to be next.

Ronnie did an additional DVD, The Road to the Olympia, AFTER the Olympia.  He's never done this.  And he did it in Australia, alienating his American video contracts.

Ron is guest posing and doing signings like never before.   Every week. This WOULD be a good time to keep the retirement secret and earn a lot of money.

Dorian waited until the Arnold Classic following his last Olympia win to announce his retirement. So did Haney. Will Coleman?

The magazines are covering Gustavo like he's the next champ.  Marketing students would say these resources are going in Gustavo's direction for a reason...

Perhaps Ronnie Coleman did the math after tearing a tricep and winning #8 and realized it's time to hang it up and retire a champion.  I know it's popular opinion to say that Ronnie will be king forever, but we all may want to step back and look at the facts and consider we may have seen the man onstage for the last time.

Ronnie has used higher levels of GH/IGF/Insulin than any previous Mr O champion.  His head is clearly showing a growing skull plate on the front left side. Really? Are you a Dr? Tell me how his "skull plate" just happens to be growing on the left side.  ::)

From recent pics, Ronnie has not touched a weight, has not eaten much, and has not used anything more than maintenance HRT for the last 4 months.  As he does every year.

Ronnie lost his LOCK upon the Olympia the minute the judges awarded Gustavo the challenge round at the 05 Olympia.  Gustavo is clearly waiting to be next. The Challenge round was fixed!! in the purist sense of the word.

Ronnie did an additional DVD, The Road to the Olympia, AFTER the Olympia.  He's never done this.  And he did it in Australia, alienating his American video contracts. Opinion
Ron is guest posing and doing signings like never before.   Every week. This WOULD be a good time to keep the retirement secret and earn a lot of money. Opinion again

Dorian waited until the Arnold Classic following his last Olympia win to announce his retirement. So did Haney. Will Coleman? Who knows. I thought Haney annouce it a lot sooner than that. In fact I know for sure that his wife told Wayne at Lee's last O that he was done.

The magazines are covering Gustavo like he's the next champ.  Marketing students would say these resources are going in Gustavo's direction for a reason... The mags do this every year

Saw him Saturday, and his elbow was back to normal.   And his tricep wasn't torn.  Told him about the bullshit that is trashed around on this board & he laughed.  He commented that these internet gurus know more about him than he does.

I call bullshit. Ronnie is not retiring. Besides, why retire when you can be awarded the title every year, regardless of how you look.

Unless of course, it is Jesus' plan for Ronnie to retire..... ::)

The angle that 'this'll be the LAST time to see that greatest bodybuilder of all time' by making rumours is nothing new.

Ronnie has said time and time again he'll go as long as he can.

I think he'll be good for at least 10 O's before he considers retirement.

It's still kinda early for this hype, but think about it...for the last few years, the marketing has been...."watch him tie Dorians record!"...then "watch him tie Arnolds record!" ....again with "watch him tie Haney's record!"...and now it's, "watch him surpass and become the winningest of all time!"...and anything after that will be gravy as Ronnie becomes the bodybuilders equivalent to The Rolling Stones...."...their final tour!...retirement tour!..."...they were saying that as far back as 20 years for the Stones, and they just sold out a huge concert last summer here in Canada.

Ronnie ain't done goin' nowhere!

rumors are one thing... but these are pics taken by fans that show his head is clearly deformed, and those skull plates seem to be rising.
