No gym bags allowed in the gym ??
« on: July 16, 2014, 11:58:02 AM »
This planet fitness crappy rule" its taking over every gym now   but why ?

I mean you buy a gym bag at Golds and then you cant take it to that very same gym unless you leave it at the locker? whats the use for it then ?  so if I need wrist/knee wraps etc I have to carry them around on my hands or walk to the locker room back and forth ?

I already told one of the staff that I need my gym bag as part of workout and is not preventing anyone to mind their business so They can give me my money back and I go somewhere else

what do you think about this 'rule"?

Good rule - you shouldn't need wrist or knee wraps / gallon water jug / mid workout sups or any other gym faggotry anyway.

i never understood the gym bag mentality. you dont need a belt or wraps of any kind. if you do, your using too much weight and thus should lower  that weight. water bottle you can carry in your hand.

i walk into the gym every day with just my wallet keys and cell phone

you really dont need all these accessories in my opinion

Good rule.  At a gym I used to go to, all of the loose accessories like cables, D grips, close grips, etc... would all go missing and the gym would take months to replace them.  Remember having to grab onto the ball on the cable machine because most attachments were gone.

How about bringing a suitcase? Imagine how much stuff you have room for and bring around with you

technically at my gym there's a no gym bag rule too.  but there's also a sign in the locker room that's says that they are "not responsible for lost or stolen items".  and shit gets stolen from the locker rooms fairly often.

so if they would ever call me on it, I would tell them that "if you aren't responsible for my stuff in the locker room, then my stuff stays with me."

I have a belt, wraps, sleeves, nike romaleos, chalk, wallet, some bands, phone, keys all in my gym bag.  that's a lot of money worth of stuff.

Can't stand posers that think they are hard core because of their gym bag full of shit that they lug around with them. The bags are a waste of space on the gym floor along with the people who bring them.

Stupid rule.  I carry towels, chalk and throw my belt in there.  I use a small bag, doesn't get in the way.

That rule hardly started with Planet Fitness. When I joined Bally over 20 years ago, that rule was there. And, as has been mentioned, it's because people steal the collars, small plates, and even some of the lighter dumbbells.

I carry a shoe bag, I have straps, elastic bands, a couple of pins for the weight stacks because people steal or mislay the gym, ones and a couple of homemade handles.

What kills me are the guys who bring their whole jug of protein powder or the whole can of pre-workout stuff, instead of just carrying one serving of each that they need for their workout.

What if gym bags where the only thing allowed at the gym?

No weights. No bars. Just gymbags.

Just a thought.
