I listen to talk radio exclusively (Newstalk and BB Radio 5) but have a USB player in car so have a few hundred/thousand songs at hand at any given time. Other Get Lucky, which was so overplayed it should be removed from all archives and burned to never rise, I can't recall a number 1 since Mad World at Christmas 2004.

Pitbull has had dozens of great songs over the past decade. His talent is limitless & boundless. He is talented beyond compare. Every lyric is a thought provoking work of art. Immensely deep lyrics. Every song is an unique masterpiece. The only artist that is in Pitbull's league is Lil Wayne (barely).

the weird thing is that there is still good music around..it just doesnt end up in top 40 or mainstream anymore.

music videos and massive promo budgets get you mainstream. if you have those, you can get any piece of crap track recognised.

I didn't say it was great.  It's got a good hook, it's catchy.  It's a pop song. 

If you a actually LISTEN ..pop music, musically speaking...is more complex than its ever been. Because it's so easy to make music now. You can make 32 track music on your laptop.  15 years ago, you had to rent an
Exorbitantly expensive studio to do that.

Music is more than guitar parts that are hard to play.
