The Amish are Christians and originally they were Dutch, hence the term Pennsylvania Dutch. Bible - The Amish see the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God. When I am wrong, I admit it and I was wrong that the Amish came from Holland. You are right, they came from Germany.

As for Holland today which is in the Netherlands, more than half of Dutch folks are Christians.

When the law of Moses was written, the Pagan Nations/cultures that surrounded Israel, used to cut their skin and mark their bodies as a religious ceremony to Pagan Gods.

Basically, Jehovah wanted His people to: 1. Be different, and set apart for Him 2. Not get involved in idol worship

This verse has nothing to do with Christians/Christianity and Jesus.

Jesus is the New Covenant with God, Moses Law was the old.

Jesus replaced the old covenant, and all the legalistic crap that came with it.
