We all thought the pops Antonio Cesaro was getting as part of the "Real Americans" meant he was heading for prime time. He basically hijacked Swagger's gimmick. And, after winning the Andre-the-Giant-Memorial Battle Royal, it looks as if he'd arrived.
Then, Cesaro dumps Zeb Coulter for Paul Heyman, turns heel, and it's gone south. He's jobbed three weeks in a row to Big E and Kofi Kingston, twice.
Now, Big E and Cesaro are feuding.
Meanwhile, Jack Swagger is back in the spotlight. He looked to be heading for a world title at WrestleMania 29, before getting popped for a DUI and weed. Then, he fizzled, got lumped in a tag team, and watched Cesaro steal his thunder.
But, it appears everything old is new again. It seems the old USA vs. Russia thing is back in style, thanks to Alexander Rusev and Lana (hoochie skirt, long legs, and all). Swagger has turned face and it appears the American hero thing works better with him than it did with Big E.
To top it all off, Heyman is apparently no longer with Cesaro. And, it seems this was just filler time for Heyman, until Brock Lesnar decides he wants to step in the ring again.
