That was a different time my friend, look at all the accolades and acceptance pro athletes are getting now for coming out. That college ball player pretty much insured that he would get drafted by the NFL as they didn't want to be perceived as homophobic.  Great strategy

Not sure that the same can work in bb, probably not, probably never... Just like soccer/football in Europe, full of homosexuals, disguised as the ultimate "manly" sport, worst place for coming out...

Paris went public with it....Dickerson was a fruit loop and it never "affected" him negatively with the Weider brothers.
