polumbuism is...
« on: July 22, 2014, 01:49:08 AM »
growth of the vertebrae and narrowing of the exit in the bone structure which causes the nerves to be constricted, enough to not cause obvious pain or discomfort, but resulting in lost nerve activity...the result, muscle waste.

typically at c4 through c7, but also in the lumbar region.

in other words, its from excessive GH use..which is why you dont see it much from the early days, and lots of it now.

HTH.

degeneration between c5 & c6 will affect the tricep, down the pinkie and ring fingers, as well as the teres/upper back muscle.. (which is what I have, although my triceps haven't shrunk yet, their strength is down 30% some days)

degeneration between c6 & c7 will affect (or is it "Effect"??? that always confuses me.) the biceps & forearms... etc...

Palumboism isn't really hating on Palumbo the man. Whoever came up with the term wasn't doing it to hate on Palumbo imop. It's just that Palumbo was the perfect speciman for what was happening to bodybuilders limbs.

So this is why ronnie coleman arms shrunk down to 17 inches.

So this is why ronnie coleman arms shrunk down to 17 inches.

lets say you have 100k muscle fibers in your triceps.

lets say you have disc degeneration in the c5/c6 that "blocks" 30% of the fibers in your triceps... so when you go to train, instead of having all 100k of those fibers firing during the workout/sets,  now you only have 70% firing and being stimulated... the other 30% won't fire, and if they don't fire, they'll atrophy.

that's a very "dumbed down" explanation, but yea, something like that.

look at Paul Orndorph's arm (the pro wrestler from the 80's).

look at the right side, especially the lower body, of Jay Cutler.

etc etc...
