My family growing up were not physical at all. Hugs were rare, if at all. My wife family was the opposite. I learned to hug from her. I don't regret it.
Today we were at an outdoor Saturday market. There was a fellow wearing a sign which read "free hugs." He asked my wife if she'd like a hug. She said yes. It was nice. I decided against hugging this stranger. This is still be a bit of a stretch for me. I'll stick to hugging friends and family.
