The Best Bodybuilding Gym in the UK

I trained in hardcore bodybuilding gyms from the age of 16 to about 36. 

In Glasgow, Yorkshire, Birmingham and London.

Whilst it is all about the atmosphere and people, the best gym for me was Dorian's Temple gym back in 1996/97. The equipment really worked as it was supposed to, knowing it was DY's gym lifted me up more than a triple dose of the original Ultimate Orange, and you were encouraged to train like a Beast.  Too much talking and Debbie would shout at you.

Sav sold Bodyworks in 1988/9.

Old Muscleworks, pre the Banglatown takeover, was a brilliant gym.

 I know Muscleworks is supposed to be hardcore but it was a bunch of fat Hebrews and 9 stone Pakistani gangstaz lifting like spastics when I went.

I swear I've seen Junior there at one stage, or there are lots of Bubbles who look like him. 

Muscleworks at 11am on weekdays in the early / mid 1990s was off the charts.  Tons of inspirational Hebrew champions and a brutal training culture. It lost that may years ago but is still a really well equipped gym where you can throw heavy iron about.

This is like most hardcore gyms I've been to. There are some very big guys around but the majority are just posse's of 18-22 year old wannabe gangstas.

There are actually 2 in there who model themselves on the Krays in the way they style their hair , dress, everything.

Didn`t know you were a nottingham lad,is my old training partner Ian Wilkie still at Cyrils.I know Jason Corrick is still there.In the 80s you had the Bucks,Rocky Foster there as well,only trained there a few times but its a great gym.

My mate pat williams trained there i met him there a couple of times when we were going out in notts

i couldnt believe the difference

i guess muscle memory exisits
