what was so good about 2005-2007
A combination of a few things.
Professional bodybuilding was more interesting and getbig served as a bit of a "trap" for professional bodybuilders. It's hard to really replicate a perpetually irate Titus posting pure sarcasm at yet more talk of him being the undercover pro - or Kmalia not being able to hand the thunderdome or shawn ray copping shit, but morphing into a true getbig hater (long forgotten now, but he was the most pure getbig shitslinger pro that ever was). Bob Chic copping shit from all angles - sometimes Priest, sometimes people on his pirate shirts. People in the industry coming to argue on this board, the emergence of Melvin Goodrum over at the supplement section, harrassing Chris Mason, Klaus Doring, muscle mayhem rivalry (chad nichols board).
Too many bridges burned now, though - and bodybuilding has less charisma, currently - anyway.
The board was just a meaner place, back then and really, in a positive way.
The mental midgets that are able to run free today had no foothold. Most of the trash threads that are posted these days would have just been moved elsewhere, absolutely immediately.
Nowadays, there's around 50% threads in G&O that would probably have been dumped in the Y, immediately by Hedgehog.
It was still a total madhouse for miscellanea in those years of course, just less bullshit from people with 30000 insignificant, one line glass of water posts in like 2 years
I'm not into this concept that everything was better in the past, but there were more interesting people posting per capita, back then.
TLDR: There are still interesting people, here - but there's an element of fucking horrendous weaksauce with no essential redeeming qualities that infest, here now.
