I had the chance to come across a story told to me from reliable sources.
I am not going to name names with whom is involved, but what happened was that there was an NPC competitor with great promise who won a show similar to the Mid-Atlantics but before he was to go on to the USA's he was approached by Weider. At a meeting that included Joe Weider, another youth and what seemed to be the "Blade"... Old Joe saw promise in him and told him .. hey listen we are going to set you up with doctors to monitor your steroid usage and what not so that everything runs smoothly and you are "healthy" but for us to start we need something along the lines of 30 grand or so.. (I wasnt clear on the figure. ) But here is the kicker.... If YOU DONT HAVE THE $$$ there is some guy that will front/sponsor your journey, however you need to pose for him in the nude while he "take cares of himself". After that was said the source of the story got up and walked out of the meeting and bodybuilding as a whole.

Do you guys think that this is true ?? I can tell you that my sources are not one s to lie ... but im just bring the issue to light ..

I refuse to believe any of that nonsense! There are no gays in or associated with bodybuilding. Never have been and never will be. Pumping up muscles so you can pose to music in a thong for other men is the most heterosexual past time there is!

Seriously, the story recounted above is very much in line with what I have observed. When I was on the gay muscle/escort board about 4-5 years ago, I can recall one up and comer who joined the board and made it clear he was looking for a sponsor. He was pretty specific: unlike many of the less dedicated muscle wannabes on that site, he wanted ONE substantial sponsor he could “work with” rather than a handful of a small johns with small wallets. In other words he wanted a full time body building sponsor and was not willing to hustle for nickels and dimes. He was already in good shape and made it clear he was willing to do what it took to get ahead.

Soon after he appeared on that site, he disappeared and never came back. Eventually, someone started a thread about him asking whatever happened to him. The moderator reported that he found the sponsor he was looking for and consequently had no reason to remain on the site. He concentrated on his training and the sponsor who made it possible.

Today, he is a competing pro and I chuckle every time I see him on stage or in publicity photos.
