Hey! I was invited to a bachelor party last month but I turned down the invite. I just didn't wanna go to a Mid-evil dinner and then to a Rocky Horror show. (Not into stuff like that). Plus, the guy throwing the party asked everyone for $100.00 a head to cover the expenses and pay for the bachelor. Was I being too much of a jerk for not going? Has anyone else out there done this?  8)

It's not clear whether you didn't go because you didn't want to spend $100 or because you didn't care for the theme of the event. How close a friend are you with the groom? If you're good friends and you could afford the cost, you should have attended.

yes, i am a good friend of his. But the reason I didn't go was both, and I had originally had other plans for that day that fell through. The day was spemt with my family however, so I didn't lie when I told him I had something else to do.

Well then, I guess one weighs their friendship in cases like these. Sometimes we do things for friends we wouldn't otherwise do. On the other hand, bachelor parties sometimes get really wild like in the movie The Bachelor. It was definitely your call. You made the best decision for you and you shouldn't spend a lot of time rethinking it.
