I believe they're direct drive, so no clutch. On/off lever basically. Dont quote me on that though.

How would Stewart know the guy hit the wall if it occurred behind him and without contact? Wearing the HANS in that type of car with front wings would give you maybe an 11:00 - 1:00 line of sight?

He may very well have not seen Ward.

the more I watch it the less likely I find it intentional. Im not sure if they wears HANS in sprint cars..... itd be interesting to know one way or the other. It looks like the kid came running towards him and he blipped it to drive away, car kicked out and caught the kid as he got next to the car.

Imagine Stewart saying something like "Oh, this little shit is coming out now?" an instant before he throttles it and pounds him.  Granted, he probably wanted to just buzz right by, or maybe clip him - they were only going 30-40 at that point and people do get clipped at that speed in nascar from time to time in the pits, and they're okay.  Maybe stewart just didn't give a shit, something like "Hey, I'm standing my ground on the track."   If there's any racer that I see as having the blood lust, it's him lol.

If the GoPro camera is intact and shows nothing, cool.  If it is somehow missing, well, that's a huge red flag.  I just don't see why he hit throttle and the other cars didn't.

I'm betting the quote would be "D' Fcck out my way..." an instant before he hits him.

Theres a large shoulder/backpiece that comes up behind your head and your helmet is tethered in several spots to your shoulders and back piece.
