Favorite non-standard piece of gym kit?
« on: August 12, 2014, 04:40:54 AM »
For me, the trap bar

I use it for deads, overhead press, shrugs and bent-over rows.

Ironmind Belt Squat -

.

.

I set mine up like the bottom pic, works great when you just don't want a bar across your back.

I would love that thing to bench with my fucked up shoulder. BB bench is out for a while, it has to be DBs.

That's precisely why I bought it. Then I discovered I liked DLing with it better as well. And overhead pressing. Hell, when my knees allowed I even squatted with it a few times! Love this bar. Much more versatile than one of those multi-grip ones. Also, being made by Watson Gym Equipment it has proven indestructible. Those guys make quality equipment.

Shall I mail it to you? ;)

Aren't you in the Netherlands? It would cost more to ship it than for me to buy new!

Probably. Just from the UK to Holland cost about 25% of the bar itself. Worth it though. I just can't bring myself to just give it to the commercial gym Band I work out at now.

Prowler sled.

I have one of those too, but my damn shoulder has kept me from going as wild as I would have wanted.

I have the Sorinex version of that bar. They call it the "Diamond Bar"

They're a great bit of kit, I like attaching a rope to it and alternating between pushing and pulling.

The gym at work is too tight to buy one, so we have to make do with using an upside down vaulting box loaded with weights, lol.

I have a Westside sled for pulling. I have a LOT of equipment.

LOVE IT. I have a lot of stuff from NY Barbell. They are probably second to Rogue as my supplier.

I would need the part that you step in to be a much larger diameter to account for my flaring V taper and wide shoulders

I am not sure that they make them for a man of your magnitude...stud.
