Bodybuilding food can cost a lot of money, we basically eat way more food than we would if we were not training. In my case its like 4x more food. What you guys buy when you are on budget?

I don't know. I've never been on a food budget.

What kind of budget are we talking about? Enough for bulk chicken breasts? Or do you have to settle for chicken asses?

you should never be on a budget with food, I am sure you can find other parts of your life to reduce spending but food is the most important thing, never go cheap with food.

I will add my own tip, chicken livers, I used to buy them for 1 dollar, 500 grams. They are full of some important vitamins and 23 grams of protein per 100g of livers is great. Important is to cook them with something, over time you can start to hate that liver taste, put some veggies in and you will be fine.

They are really powerfull, try them.

for some people like e.g. Goodrum, being on a food budget is not a choice.

Eggs, rice, and oats. You are welcome. People think eating bodybuilder huge is expensive but it isn't.

yup, and regular ground beef is usually about a buck a pound.

skim milk powder is a good cheap alternative to protein powder.

I never even thought about skim milk powder. That is a smart suggestion. I don't take any bodybuilding supplements any more though. I just stick to whole foods at this point. I don't trust the supplement industry. My protein shake these days in cranberry juice, pineapple juice, egg whites and some whole eggs blended together.

Look for sakes where chicken is 2 bucks a pound. Costco 20lbs of rice, tuna, oats, enemy shrimp if you can get it for 5 bucks a pound.

Biggest saver is cutting you portions from 8oz to 6. My not seem like a lot. But when your eating it 6 times a day it will

QFT, I will add vegetables in a can are cheap. Fresh produce though is getting expensive. Some times you can find good deals on fruit. Also a pan of chicken legs from Costco is dirt cheap. I think they cut off the legs off the roasted chickens they don't sell at the end of the day. If your stomach can tolerate them cook beans with rice.

For one thing...The whole protein thing is fucking completely out of control...I will say that. Protein is by far the most expensive macro.

IT ALL STEMS FROM THE FART POWDER ILLUMINATI! 10 SCOOPS A DAY!!!
  ::) ::)

I know guys who are 200+ lbs and LEAN who don't even get 1g/lb. When they tell me their diet it's maybe 100-150g of quality protein per day.

It all stems from this "bulking" mindset...If you are gaining more than 1-2lbs per month you're getting fat. That is 12-24lbs in a year. 120-240lbs of muscle in 10 years..get real. You're a fatass. No one needs to be eating to gain fucking 1lb per week...Jesus you will be obese in 1 year.

Getting big is about CALORIES...Not fucking 500g of protein a day. 100g of protein will be completely spared by 800g of carbs in a day...where as 100g of carbs won't spare 800g of protein. Some of those aminos WILL be converted to glucose, so why eat it? Carbs are metabolic jet fuel (t3, leptin, ghrelin, etc.) Protein is for repairing tissue etc...

You can easily eat 200g of protein 400g carbs and 100g fat a day for <$10. That is 3,300 cals a day. If you need more than that drink a couple extra glasses of milk.
