What would happen if the United States announced tomorrow..
« on: August 19, 2014, 04:56:21 PM »
That if one more american, or christian,  is executed by ISIS, or if america or one of its allies was attacked by forces of radical islam again, we would bomb the great mosque in Mecca into dust??

I know its ridiculous and would never happen but it is interesting to know it could be done; america truly is the most benevolent and patient superpower in world history. The romans would have slaughtered every man woman and child in the region; the mongols would have done the same; the soviets would have been brutal; even the british empire would have dealt with ISIS more harshly. How different would the world be if America operated like this?
I dont think ISIS is a direct threat to america (yet) but its fascinating to wonder how things would be if America really threw its weight around...what would ISIS do, or al qaeda, or any of the assholes in western europe do, if america laid down this ultimatum?

on the one hand some would suspect that good muslims would police the bad muslims in an attempt to protect their religious shrine.

in reality, all muslims would unite and come after the USA for even "thinking" of destroying their religious shrine.

over all, it is really a bad idea. with that message we would surely unite all muslims against the usa.

The "good muslims" are the "moderates" that always denounce the radical sects for their acts and behavior....always try to work with other religions....always try to assimilate when in other cultures, correct?

Where exactly are those people???

They're right there, out in the open in front of your very eyes. Many are your fellow Americans.
You just lack the ability to see them or differentiate them from radical Muslims because you've painted all Muslims with the same broad brush.

The silence is deafening.......look at the UK, France, Sweden. etc. for all the proof you need...

What allows one to think they are not apples all from the same tree? The idea that there is only one permitted religion and that it's okay to convert or kill infidels to that end is a ground-floor part of the teachings.

There is no difference...they all need to go. Those that prove to be ok....they should have spoken up earlier.

Come again? Are you suggesting that American citizens "need to go" because of their religion? Go where? On what grounds and with what legal justification?

Sheesh, some of you people are completely fucking insane - you've not only gone of the deep end... You've gone off of wherever you ended up after going off the deep end.

Coming from the moron who refuses to support Israel, a nation committed to actually doing something about the radical Islamist threat.

Nagasaki and Hiroshima? Legit military targets. And it seems to me the US fought the Japanese for what 5 years, island hopping, taking mass casualties in the process. Guess you would have preferred operation olympic?

Would be nice but a waste of ammo and time - on top of that it's a muslim thing and none of our business.
Furthermore Obama would not be pleased when the angle of his direction of prayer would have to be recalculated by Nasa... depending on where the hot chips of the "holy" stone landed.

Civilian populations by nature are not "military targets", no more than New York City would have been if things were reversed.  You'd likely reply similarly about Dresden.  It might occasion you to read some history as to why these cities were really specifically chosen, or the fact that 4 weeks ahead of the bomb being dropped, the Japanese were trying to surrender.  But, dullards will be quick to accept the official explanation that dropping the bombs saved mass casualties in the long run, in order the placate the consciences of the West for what was undeniably a war crime.

You seem to be under the impression that the US is the only one that bombed civilian populations during WWII. Hiroshima was the HQ of 2nd army division as well as the fifth division. Nagasaki was a important industrial area an one of the largest sea ports in southern japan. Was it necessary to drop the A Bomb? Maybe, maybe not.

I always find it interesting when people speak of war crimes, the victors get to decide what a war crime is.
