By complete fucking morons, blaming the woman wasnt something intellectual to come up with.
Who said anything about "blaming" the women? Researchers never blamed the women. You realize that when I say domestic violence is a two-way street, I am saying that women physically attack the man. In fact, some research shows that the women is often the perpetrator first, even before the man. Its not about blaming. Violence is violence, even when a women attacks a man. Its about understanding the cycle.
Some stats:
Harvard study says 70 percent of domestic violence is committed by women against men.
A review of 62 empirical studies of female-perpetrated intimate partner violence4 found rates of physical violence of 4-79% among adolescent girls, 12-39% among female college students and 13-68% among adult women. The researchers concluded that a significant proportion of females seeking help for victimisation are also perpetrators of intimate partner violence, and that those who treat battered women may need to consider addressing the perpetration of violence with their female clients.
Female initiation of partner violence is the leading reason for the woman becoming a victim of subsequent injury. Dr. Sandra Stith has called it “a dramatically more important factor than anything else.”
According to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, more than five million men and nearly five million women experience some type of violence at the hands of their partners every year.
Fact #3: Partner aggression is often two-way.
• A comprehensive review of research conducted with large population samples found 58% of all intimate partner violence is bi-directional.5
• A Centers for Disease Control survey found that injury was more than twice as likely when the violence was reciprocal (28.4%), compared to unidirectional violence (11.6%).
