If you could hit the reset button on your life, would you?
« on: August 21, 2014, 02:20:10 PM »
Take your life as it currently sits, do you have any regrets?

Did you waste away years of your life?

Have you ever wanted to start over?

A lab offers you the opportunity to be born again (as a completely different person), the drawback is that your current life's memories will never be recovered.

Do you regret not taking life by the horns?

That would be the problem wouldn't it? Not knowing if you would be worse off? As you say wouldn't matter because you wouldn't know either way.

Fair point, but what about a 78 year old grandfather? He would love a new lease on life, but would he trade in his memories?

This is also a science vs. religion debate. Do you gamble and go out (God's way) or do you act selfish, and be born again?

Thats fucking superstitious as fuck. If you had your present knowledge in the past youd be set.

granted I wish i could go back and have my hope back, adulthood has really killed my ambition.

A mon and dad can't have a baby.

Not a chance.  After all the hardships and stupidity I out myself through, my life has really come together in the last couple years, happily married to a beautiful woman, 2 yr old son, wound up lucking into a killer job a month ago that pays right around 100k/yr starting with OT....

Im finally really happy with the way my life turned out and the hardships I went through really changed the person I was. Im extremely fortunate for the way things happened.

What if you were dying? Would you trust science and roll the dice?

You could end up a billionaire, or another child in Rwanda.

With no knowledge of the life you previously had, what would it matter what form you should take?
As by your original posting you have no control over what you are re-born as. So what's the point to even worry about it, since you wouldn't know what you're missing out on anyways.

shizzo are you considering suicide?

before you do though
don't you have a shit hole of get big sticky thread to clog the board with your shit?

that would be the appropriate place for a suicide note

no additional shizzo threads necessary with that thing

win win win win situation for all

but you can't even post right

What if there is a heaven, where the memories of your life are cherished with your loved ones?

Then there comes the whole question of science vs. religion as I said earlier. Do you take the chance of playing god, and then earning the wrath of god as the result?
